Once you’ve completed the online booking process, I’ll send you through my ‘what to wear and how to prepare for your shoot’ guide. But as a general rule, avoid bold patterns and try to choose a colour cohesive wardrobe for you and your partner/family. Most importantly, wear something you feel fantastic in, as your confidence will translate in the photos!
All of my family and couple’s shoots take place about an hour before sunset to get the best light. It depends slightly on the location chosen. Photographing leading up to sunset means you get the best photos, so it’s absolutely worth the effort. Bear in mind, the earliest the sun sets in Perth is about 5.20pm, and sets as late at 7.30pm during the peak of summer. This is something to consider with little ones. Newborn shoots at home are generally held mid morning.
It’s perfectly normal that it might take a little while for your child to warm up to me. After all, I’m a new person! Being well prepared for your shoot will make a world of difference. Make sure they get their nap, stick to their routines, and are not coming along to the shoot on an empty tummy. Your energy during your shoot will make a huge difference. It can be easy to get flustered and stressed when your kids (most often toddlers!) don’t do what you want them to do, but we don’t want to force the situation! Instead, I turn to games, having fun and interacting with them, and soon enough, being the curious creatures they are, they’ll be having fun and I’ll be capturing real smiles and emotion.
Kids and parents get sick, and unforeseen circumstances pop up every so often. If you need to reschedule, please let me know asap and ideally with at least 48 hours notice. Any reschedules within 48 hours of your shoot, will incur an additional $100 fee to book a new date. If we need to reschedule because of bad weather, we’ll find an alternate date. Overcast weather is not a problem, but we want to avoid rain, or a scorching heat wave.
I’ve got you covered! Once you’ve completed your online booking, I will send you some additional information on what to wear, and how to prepare for your shoot.
I accept direct bank transfers, cash and Visa/MasterCard with a 2.2% processing fee. Payment plans are also available via PayRight.
