From Engagement to First Birthday - Newborn Photography Perth
I’ve had a front row seat to Mel, Marc and Biscuit’s journey from the very beginning, long before Francesco arrived. And what a journey it’s been! I photographed their engagement, then their wedding, and then came the news I love hearing most from past clients. They were expecting Francesco arrived, and Biscuit came to his newborn photography session in Perth, because in this family, Biscuit goes where the family goes.
She was there for the treats and the cuddles, and at one point, while every single pair of eyes was locked on the baby, she made her move… An entire block of cheese, gone from the coffee table! Not caught on camera. Not caught at all, really, until it was far too late. No regrets from Biscuit 😅
That’s the thing about a newborn session with me. It’s real life, it’s your family, your pets, your chaos, and the moments in between that you’ll look back on and laugh about forever.
THE NEWBORN DAYS
Francesco was tiny and swaddled and perfect, doing all the things newborns do. The little stretches, the sleepy sighs, the way they curl into you like they’ve always belonged there. Mel and Marc were completely smitten. Biscuit, being Biscuit, made herself at home. Go have yourself a giggle and see what it’s like to work with a newborn AND a dog! A Family Who Keeps Coming Back
After the newborn session, they started a tradition and came to their first Christmas styled photo shoots.
And then Francesco turned one. On his actual birthday, they came back! The boy who once fit in the palm of a hand had grown into a proper one year old full of personality and love for food.
We did some classic portraits to capture that one year old grin, cuddles with mum and dad, giggles with Biscuit, and then we brought out the cake.
He did not hold back
The cautious first poke… The suspicious taste… The moment he realised the whole thing was his. And then the triumphant, frosting-covered, joyful chaos that followed! Biscuit observed from a respectful distance. She’d learned her lesson about food crimes
Their second Christmas mini followed not long after. And this year could be their third!
Perth Newborn Photography That Grows With Your Family
Mel and Marc’s story is exactly why I do what I do. I’ve had a front row seat to this family from engagement all the way through to birthday cake and Christmas traditions, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
If you’re expecting and you want your newborn’s first days documented properly, with warmth, with real moments, and yes, pets absolutely welcome, I’d love to hear from you. You can find out more here about Newborn Photography in Perth.
