When I arrived at the house to start with the preparations for Gabriella’s Perth Christening photos, this sweet little girl immediately put her arms up for a cuddle as soon as I said ‘hello’. My heart instantly melted 🥰
She has the sweetest little face and most infectious smile! Her grandparents were her godparents, which I thought was extra special.
I often photograph Christenings in Perth, and the majority of the time, parents request photos starting at the ceremony and following into the start of the reception.
But if I can offer you a word of expert advice…. please consider starting at home before the ceremony!
A Christening is BIG day for little ones.
They’re thrown out of routine, they’re surrounded by several people with new things happening they’ve never experienced before, and it’s so easy for them to become overwhelmed by all the attention.
Starting photos at home, means babe is comfortable in their environment, with just their nearest and dearest around them. It gives me the opportunity to get some super cute getting ready photos, capturing any details and special gifts the godparents have brought along, and more importantly, we have the opportunity of getting gorgeous portraits of your little one and family photos with your VIPs before the chaos begins at the church.
If they happen to still be quite content after experiencing all the ceremony has to offer… fantastic! It means we can happily continue with additional family and friend photos.
Gabriella was an absolute super star, and wasn’t phased one bit by all the new experiences of such a big day and special occasion. She was smiling from the very beginning, all the way through lunch and even cutting the cake!
Big thanks to Liya & Kuncheria for inviting me to be a part of such a special milestone celebration for their family. It was such a pleasure!
